Recent findings from a public opinion survey have revealed a significant decline in support for Poland’s government, marking the lowest point since Prime Minister Donald Tusk assumed office. The survey highlights that half of the respondents perceive that the country is veering off course. Specifically, 50% of those surveyed expressed the belief that Poland is heading in the wrong direction, while only 28% maintained that the nation is on the right path. Meanwhile, 22% of participants remained undecided on the matter. This marks a shift from June, with positive assessments dropping by three percentage points and negative sentiments rising by two.
The survey further uncovered that the government’s political ratings have reached their weakest point during its current term. A significant 51% of respondents characterized the political climate as unfavorable, the highest level of dissatisfaction recorded since the government came into power. In contrast, a mere 11% of respondents had a positive outlook on the political situation. These findings illustrate a growing discontent among the populace with the current administration’s performance.
The economic outlook among the Polish public has also diminished. While 34% of those surveyed still rated the economic situation positively compared to 30% who held a negative view, the overall optimism has decreased compared to the previous month. Many respondents expressed little hope for economic improvement in the upcoming year, with increasing apprehension about both political and economic prospects.
Despite the general decline in confidence regarding the country’s direction, a majority of respondents, 63%, reported satisfaction with their family’s standard of living. Similarly, 64% viewed their household’s financial situation positively, although these figures showed a decline compared to June’s results.
The overall conclusions from the survey indicate a broad deterioration in public sentiment, particularly concerning the political landscape and expectations for future living conditions. This downturn in confidence reflects the growing challenges facing the government as it grapples with public dissatisfaction.
